About The 5th ICDM 2026

The International Conference on Disaster Management (ICDM) serves as a global platform that unites researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and community leaders to exchange insights and innovations in the field of disaster management. Building on the success of its previous series, The 5th ICDM 2026 continues the commitment to advancing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and strengthening global resilience in the face of emerging disasters and climate challenges.

It is our great pleasure to welcome you on the 5th ICDM that will take place from 29 to 30 September 2026 in the Padang City, West Sumatra, Indonesia. In this series, the theme of 'Integrating Technology and Local Wisdom for Sustainable Disaster Management' is addressed from a multidisciplinary perspective, encompassing 16 sub-themes. The more research results, experience and knowledge shared, the wider the network formed, and thus the more effective future disaster management will be.

This event not only provides an avenue for academic discussion but also serves as a bridge between science, policy, and practice—encouraging participants to share lessons learned, innovative frameworks, and practical tools that can be implemented at local, national, and international levels. Through this collaboration, ICDM 2026 aims to strengthen global networks and contribute to shaping a safer and more sustainable future for all.
